How to compress a JPG to 10–20 KB
Signatures are often required between 10 KB and 20 KB. This page keeps that range and turns on black and white, so the ink stays dark and the paper white.
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 300 MB. The 10–20 KB limit is already selected.
- Keep the size, or enter the pixels or centimetres your form asks for.
- For a signature or document, tick Black and white for sharper lines.
- Press Compress image, check that it says “Under 10–20 KB” and the preview looks clear, then download.
WaterPDF finds the highest JPG quality that fits. If you keep the original size and that is not enough, the picture is made smaller in pixels. Your original image is never changed.
What fits in 10–20 KB?
| Picture | Under 10–20 KB |
|---|---|
| Signature photo from a phone | Fits between 10 and 20 KB |
| Scanned signature | Fits, sharp in black and white |
| Very small signature image | Raised to at least 10 KB |
Questions about 10–20 KB limits
How do I resize a signature to 10–20 KB?
Sign with a dark pen on white paper and take a straight, well-lit photo. Choose it above, enter the size your form asks for (or tap the signature preset) and press Compress image.
What size should the signature be in pixels or cm?
It depends on the form. Check its notification and type those numbers under Pixels or Centimetres. When both sides are given, the picture is cropped from the centre, so leave space around the signature.
Why black and white?
It removes colour from shadows and paper, which keeps the ink sharp and the file small. Untick it if the form asks for a colour signature.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Selected file contents are processed in your browser. Normal page requests still reach the hosting provider. Use a trusted device and keep your originals.
