How to compress a JPG to 100 KB
With 100 KB, most photos keep good detail at a normal screen size. It suits profile photos, scanned certificates and document pictures.
Resizing a photo to 100 KB, reducing image size to 100 KB and a photo KB reducer all mean the same: a JPG file of 100 KB or less.
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 300 MB. The 100 KB limit is already selected.
- Keep the size, or enter the pixels or centimetres your form asks for.
- For a signature or document, tick Black and white for sharper lines.
- Press Compress image, check that it says “Under 100 KB” and the preview looks clear, then download.
WaterPDF finds the highest JPG quality that fits. If you keep the original size and that is not enough, the picture is made smaller in pixels. Your original image is never changed.
What fits in 100 KB?
| Picture | Under 100 KB |

| Full phone photo | Fits after a moderate size reduction |
Questions about 100 KB limits
How do I reduce an image to 100 KB?
Choose your image above. The 100 KB limit is already selected. Press Compress image and download the JPG.
Why did my picture get smaller in pixels?
When you keep the original size and even a clear quality does not fit 100 KB, WaterPDF reduces the pixel size until it does. To keep exact pixels, choose Pixels and type them.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is compressed in your browser and the JPG is created on your device.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Selected file contents are processed in your browser. Normal page requests still reach the hosting provider. Use a trusted device and keep your originals.
