How to compress an image to KB
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image up to 300 MB.
- Pick a size limit such as 20 KB, 50 KB or 100 KB, or type the limit your form shows.
- Keep the original size, or enter the pixels or centimetres your form asks for.
- Press Compress image, check the preview and size, then download the JPG.
The result is always a JPG, which most forms accept. Transparent areas become white. When you enter both a width and a height with a different shape, the picture is cropped from the centre instead of stretched.
Before you get started
How do I reduce a photo to 50 KB or 20 KB?
Choose the photo, pick 50 KB or 20 KB and press Compress image. WaterPDF finds the best JPG quality that fits. If you keep the original size and it still does not fit, the picture is made smaller in pixels until a clear quality fits.
My form asks for 3.5 × 4.5 cm. Can I set that?
Yes. Choose Centimetres, or tap the 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo preset, and keep 300 dpi unless your form says otherwise. The JPG records that resolution so it prints at that size. Forms differ, so check the exact size and limit they ask for.
Is 20 KB counted as 20,000 or 20,480 bytes?
Forms use both. WaterPDF aims below 20,000 bytes, so the result fits either reading.
Can I compress a PNG signature with a transparent background?
Yes. The result is a JPG with a white background, which most forms expect for signatures. Black and white often keeps the ink sharper at a small size.
Can I compress many photos at once?
Yes. Choose several photos together; each is fitted to the same size limit and you download one ZIP with the original names.
Are my documents uploaded?
No. Selected file contents are processed in your browser. Normal page requests still reach the hosting provider. Use a trusted device and keep your originals.
